Damon Johnston 1962-

Damon Johnston guitarist and vocalist was born October 2,1962 in Longview Texas to Bruce and Gloria Johnston.Damon started playing guitar at the early age of seven and was influenced by such artists as Three Dog Night, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and others.Damon's first live performance would be a duet performed with his sister Kim in their church.Playing by ear and not reading sheet music,Damon inherited his musical talent from his grand mother who played gospel music and was a self taught piano player.Damon would go onto form the Texas based 80's hard rock band "Wolfgang" with former "Little Texas" drummer Dean Johnson,bassist James Monkhouse and guitarist Brock Whatley.Playing and performing in clubs and venues throughout Texas thoughout the eighties "Wolfgang" would disband in early 1993 with the band members going their seperate ways to persue other music avenues.

Wolfgang an eighties hard rock band formed in 1988 between guitarist DamonJohnston,bassist James Monkhouse, former "Little Texas" drummer Dean Johnson and guitarist Brock Whatley.The band performed throughout Texas from 1988 through 1994 performing and covering such artists as Judas Priest, AC/DC, Black Crowes, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin and others.Wolfgang continued to tour and perform shows and venues until 1994 when the band members decided to persue other musical avenues.Guitarist Brock Whatley went on to form the blues band "Voo Doo Healin" while guitarist and vocalist Damon Johnston formed the three piece grunge band "Sirensong" in 1994 with drummer Terry Barton and bassist Ray Tracey.

Sirensong a three piece grunge band from Texas that formed in early 1994 between guitarist and vocalist Damon Johnston,drummer Terry Barton and bassist Ray Tracey.The bands unique style and sound have been the direct result of their musical influences from such artists as Nirvana,Alice in Chains,Stone Temple Pilots and SoundGarden. Sirensong recorded and released their first CD "Survivors Can't Pretend" in May of 1997 which included 10 studio tracks and was produced by Jimmy Taylor at Encore Studios. The bands follow up cd "Relics" was recorded and produced by Jimmy Taylor and released in Febuary of 1999.After touring and performing in the states and promoting their first two studio releases Sirensong released their long awaited third studio album "Modern Day Siren".In December 2009 the grunge band from Texas caught the attention of record executives at the Manchester England indie record label Swerve Records and was approached with an offer to sign the band to their overseas label as well as their U.S. label affiliate Stutter Records.


 In 2009 the band returned to the studio to record their fourth studio album "Unplugged" under Swerve Records label and to work with world renown music producer Otto D'Agnolo at Chaton Studios in Phoenix Arizona. Producing albums for such artists as Alice Cooper,Judas Priest,Seven Dust,Nirvana.Stone Temple Pilots and others Sirensong returned to the studio in 2010 to work with Otto D'Agnolo once more for the release of "Underground".In late 2010 former Geffen Records executive Vicki Hamilton who managed such artists as Motley Crue,Guns and Roses,Poison and Faster Pussycat joined the bands U.S. label Affiliate Stutter Records and agreed to manage the band starting with their upcoming 2011 U.S. Tour.Sirensong will be featured alongside three other bands in the documentary "When The Music Stops" which chronicles the band on the road and on tour and is being produced by the bands manager Vicki Hamilton and their record label Stutter Records and set to be released in the spring of 2011.

Velvet Garden a three piece grunge band from Phoenix Arizona that formed in early 2009 between guitarist and vocalist Damon Johnston, former heart drummer Gary Loomis and bassist Doc Frasier formerly of Three Fold Fate.The bands unique style and sound have been the direct result of their musical influences from such artists as Nirvana,Alice in Chains and the Stone Temple Pilots. Velvet Garden recorded and released their debut cd "Hell Springs Flames" in early 2009 which was produced by world renown music producer Otto D'Agnolo.
